The CJEU issued on 5th March 2015 decision C-463/12 - on private copying levies. The Danish collecting society Copydan initiated the dispute against Nokia. Copydan claimed that Nokia should pay the levy for memory cards, which are used for mobile phones. The Court addressed several issues related to the private copying exception and the concept of fair compensation under Article 5(2)(b) of the Copyright Directive 2001/29/EC.
